I sent emails out yesterday with a friendly reminder and several of you responded-Thank YOU

Now I feel the need to address a few issues-which means I gotta be serious and I don't especially like being all serious...seriously!

I will not name names but I got many emails saying that you can not ship by tomorrow, I understand things come up, I understand you needing a few more days, but what I don't understand is waiting until the last minute to even shop and then asking me to ask your exchange partner to wait until after the new year to receive their gift...This Is Unacceptable! It isn't fair! I am pretty sure I stated the rules aka 411 in a post then I personally emailed all 104 participants with reminder emails of what is expected of you AND what you can expect from me.

I am at a loss here, last year was such a huge success and I want this year to be as well. Many of you have no idea what goes on behind the scenes, how much work goes into pairing everyone up, then last minute additions want to join in and I don't like to leave anyone out so I boot-scoot and boogie (name that duo) so everyone can be included. I don't ask for references, an emergency contact or your first born, I work off the honor system here...

There has been some question on the dollar amount to spend on your exchange partners gift...it is $20 before shipping meaning your gift should total $20 not $5 or $10 but $20...that's all I'm sayin on this matter

My mom sent this to me in an email-I thought it was too funny and had to share it...

One day my mother was out and my dad was in charge of me. I was maybe 3 years old, and someone had given me a little 'tea set' as a gift. It was one of my favorite toys. Daddy was in the living room engrossed in the evening news when I brought him a little cup of 'tea', which was just water. After several cups of tea and lots of praise for such yummy tea, my Mom came home. My Dad made her sit quietly in another room, so mom could watch me bring dad the cup of tea, because I was so cute.
Mom waited, and sure enough, I came walking down the hall with a cup of tea for Daddy. Mom watches dad drink from the tea cup.
Then she says, (as only a mother would know... :) 'Did it ever occur to you that the only place she can reach to get water is the toilet?

My sweet lil Jess was looking for quotes to make me a special Christmas present when my PC was attacked by that dreaded virus. The guys over at PC Data Recovery in BA had to give me a new hard drive, while I lost ALL my programs, seriously I did have 3 rows of programs installed now I have a nice manageable 15 programs total(not rows).

They were able to save all my pictures, I was in the process of uploading them all to Picasa and when I took my pc in for repair I said PLEASE save my pictures even if the pc isn't fixable PLEASE save my pictures. I have 4 years worth of pictures on this computer!

So now that I am 'hooked' back up I am taking some precautions...

IE is gone I am now a Firefox user. For the most part the FF transition was easy but pages look different in FF every-bodys font is the same and I know that is not the case, so any firefox pros out there want to give me some pointers, tips and hints? For example FF has a built in spell checker-you should see all the red underlined words in this post-how I do I spell check a word? Where do I click in this new browser of mine?

McAffe is also gone I am now an AVG user and since McAffe is gone I was able to re-add spybot I really really really like having spybot back on my computer.

I am curious what everyone else uses to browse the netters and what program you use to protect your PC?

In Feb Eric and I will celebrate our 13th anniversary with a trip to my very favorite place Eureka Springs You may be asking yourself why is Georgie talking about her anniversary when it's 2 months off, well, I will tell you why...

There is no other town like ES, it is a victorian village, quaint and it runs on a slower pace, there isn't a stoplight in the whole town, it is the only place I never feel like I need a vacation from my vacation, I get giddy just knowing I will be there very soon and this is the time that I, Georgie start planning our trip. Last night we made our reservation for lodging and this is where we will be staying....

We have wanted to stay at Treehouse Cottages for years, but this place books up months in advance and while we weren't able to secure an actual treehouse we will be staying in the lovely Hillside Haven Cottage and enjoying these amenities:

I Can't Quit You!

I literally had to be like a real person these past 2 weeks...well once I got through the withdrawl symptoms...and still I wouldn't say I functioned like a 'real' person

The first day I only sat in your chair 30 times before realizing you were not here. I was sad, I felt disconnected, I cried...

The 2nd and 3rd days were H-A-R-D! I had the shakes, the chills, sweaty palms, I gave PMS a run for her money! I had to call my mom and ask her to check my emails. I sat in the chair and clickity clicked the mouse-that may or may not have helped with the shakes.

The 4th day Eric tells me I hit him in the middle of the night and said 'GO BUY ME A NEW COMPUTER PRONTO' He told me the next morning he seriously contemplated breaking into Best Buy @ 2am. He said I was in trance, drooling and speaking in another language saying things like 'alt and the #3' 'ctrl/alt/del' 'right click right click' I do not remember hitting him, I am not typically a violent girl...

By the 5th day I was sure my pc was unfixable and politely threatened Eric to take me to Best Buy. He refused...so I did what any good wife would do...

I 'schooled' him...for the next few days...

I took control of the remote and made him watch things like The Hills, Desperate Housewives, Americas Next Top Model, The City, Sex and the City, Big Love re-runs, Project Runway, I surfed the 900s aka the music channels on Cox and made him listen to all POP music, he dislikes 'POP' music very much and I sang along...loudly...and very out-of-tune.

I told him Abby has a project due that is now 1 week late because we don't have a way for her to type it up...I pulled out all the stops. He asked me to give the computer guy till Monday, I may or may not have asked him to wait till 2014 for sex.ever.again

Guys I had to do things like:

Laundry
Run the thing that makes your carpet look nice
Set something out for dinner every.single.day!
Watch the actual news on the TV
Read the paper
CALL people instead of emailing them
I gave myself a 2nd degree burn trying to make FLAN!
Shower
Get dressed
Go to Bass Pros customer appreciation night for 3 friggin hours
Make the childrens take pics with Santa @ Bass pro night
Threaten to make Eric take pics with Santa @ Bass pro night
Load the dishwasher
Run the dishwasher
Unload the dishwasher
Sweep
as opposed to burning pine-sol on my stove and calling it all good

I applied make-up out of sheer boredom... TWICE... in one day

I fixed my hair, I then colored my hair, I am now a brunette, yes, no working computer makes you do things you normally wouldn't do, strange things...

Today when I arrived home from daddys chemo appointment there was my beautiful tower sitting on the table, calling out to me...I ran to it and hugged her tightly, then quickly hooked a girl up...

So it's official I can't quit you, I have a problem and am proudly acknowledging it

My Confession for today: I am back and my my my how I have missed you ALL!!!! Time to get caught up...just as soon as Abby types up her report...

It's Monday well it's probably Tuesday if you live in Australia, I don't judge, they all end in Y some are just harder to wake up to...

Now that my eyes and ears have recovered from the final act on the AMAs last night, did ya'll watch? Right after I saw the 'glambert' performance I went to twitter to see what was being said, I am pretty sure I was still in shock because I said I was undecided on what I thought and Abby was all like WOW mom and not in a good way in the world of WOWs. I was undecided because I don't judge, I had a choice to turn the channel, it's not Adams fault I couldn't turn away from the trainwreck...

Did he stumble/fall or was that planned, I said the same thing when J-Lo performed...did she just fall? Did he really just shove a guys face into his crotch OMGosh and grind... And I seriously thought lady Ga-Ga was all kindsa nekkid in that glass box. If your screaming "Oh No He didn't" at your TV does that mean your getting old? Should I have know it would have been over the top since the announcer kept saying 'stay tuned for Adam Lambert a shocking performance you won't want to miss' theentireshow...

I have been having some CRAZZZY dreams first the Pioneer Woman now Beyonce' is tellin me to "turn the Light on!"

I also think I am the only person on the planet that has a huge dislike for green bean casserole, seriously did the pilgrims have cream of mushroom soup? Just in case I'm not, let me share a better green bean dish for your Thanksgiving table

Depending on the size of your crowd, add or take away(hey this ain't no food blog-I use terms like handfuls,as much as you can tolerate,takeaway,smooshed,red rover red rover...)

6 cans green beans drained
1 small onion-chopped
4-5 or as much as you can handle cloves of garlic smooched and chopped-I happen to LOVE garlic
Lots of tablespoons of butter(2 or 3 or more)
a finger full of basil(I use dried)

In a deep skillet heat butter, throw in onions and garlic and get them to that transparent stage then add green beans, stir, toss in some basil, stir, cover, simmer on low heat-I promise these will be the best green beans you have ever had.

So we are 3 days away from Thanksgiving and I am scratching my head...no seriously I am scratching my head-dry scalp I think...anyways our Thanksgiving starts Wednesday where we will attend the most traditional Thanksgiving my motherinlaws, the food is always great and her lemon pie is out of this world, the calf-slobbers are a mile high of yummy goodness. Then Thursday is my moms at noon where comfort and that at home feeling reign supreme and then my fatherinlaws that evening for fun times with my sisterinlaws...

Friday Fragments

Is it Friday already? I am not sure where this week went, but it's gone baby gone...So I will attempt to recap my unproductive week, Fragment style

* I had a dream that the Pioneer Woman and myself were besties...not sure where that came from, she doesn't even know I exsist

* Most of the week was spent with me in bed, I have been sick sick sick, not the flu or swine flu, just aches, chills and a cough that would give any smoker a run for their money-Nyquil has become my best friend...hmmmm maybe that's why I have been having some funky dreams...

* Jess gave Abby 'The NUB' award, I don't know what a NUB is but the award was pretty and sparkly, Abby didn't think it was as funny as the rest of us

* On Dec 20th I will be attending my first concert in over 20 yrs...I some how got ram-roded into taking Abs and 2 friends to see Justin Bieber-I like JB, I don't like crowds or hoards of screaming teeny boppers

I have talked about all kinds of things on this blog, my childrens, my family, life, things I like, the good, the bad, the ugly...

I rarely IF ever talk about God, Politics, or the world wrestling federation...not because those things don't interest me, okay the WWF doesn't...just sayin and sorry to any WWF lovers out there just know I don't judge-WWF lovers are people too... where was I...while I may be a loud, opinionated person, I am that person confined within the walls of my home, I don't like confrontation...

Today, I am curious though, what are your thoughts on the Spiritual aspect of life? Do you believe in Heaven and Hell? Do we have Gaurdian Angels? Did Noah really build an ark?

Some of you may recall me saying I have this "gift" like a 3rd eye or some severe Intuition...if you stop reading right now I will totally understand seriously my own husband thinks I am weird, crazy even...

Let me say, I do believe in God and a Higher Power, I believe Jesus died for our sins on a Cross and then rose again 3 days later and I believe in Angels...I believe in the BIBLE which serves as my Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth...

Now that you know where I stand let me say I recently had a Spiritual Reading done by Sassy Pants Freckle Face aka SPFF

I am not ready to disclose everything from that encounter, I am not here posting this to try and change your mind on how you think, I am not here to try and convice you of anything...I just wanted to share a little bit of what happened...

Okay it isn't so easy to put into words, let me say she knew/said things that there is NO way she could have known and I am not talking about generalizations, I am talking about cold hard facts of my life that I have NOT shared with anyone, not even my bestie.

Shortly after I was married to my first husband I had some serve cramping and bleeding, it would be hours later that I spent in the hospital before I learned I had a miscarriage, once I was informed of what happened I was told I needed surgery, a simple procedure really, for cysts on my ovaries. My family knew of the cysts BUT not of the miscarriage...I never spoke of it...to anyone...

BUT SPFF told me my son is doing just fine and wants me to know that...MY SON!

She told me lots more, stuff that there is no way she could have known, most of which I am still trying to digest and come to terms with...SPFF is NOT a fortune teller, she uses Arch Angel Oracle cards which bring messages of love, peace, and hope. She has a gift a very special gift...I do believe that...

Thank You for Letting me Vent

Ever have one of those days when you feel just blah, every time you turn around your dropping something like you have butter fingers and I'm no Paula Dean...cuz Paula would just cackle and say 'It's all good Ya'll'

Well I'm having one of those weeks, I try to stay positive but it seems around every corner is a brick wall and I slam smack dab into it, obviously I'm no superman either...cuz superman is the man of steel and well I'm not a man and I don't even have buns of steel...

If you stop reading right here I will completely understand, this is a venting session of sorts for me...

Abby's Sweet 16 is coming up...I know right! Well I can most certainly promise you she won't be appearing on MTV's 'My Super Sweet 16' show, although when it's all said and done the X-factor and myself 'may' be appearing on Jerry Springer...

I don't like the X, there is a reason we are divorced, I tolerate him for Abs and Reese's benefit, I am cordial and rarely gripe about the fact he owes upwards of $30,000 in back child support, child care and medical exspenses.

I only occasionally gripe that he still calls my dad and recently my BIL, why can't he stay out of MY families life, MY life... in May we will have been divorced 15 yrs. Seriously it is so fustrating-if you only knew how rude and dismissing he is of me in front of Abby & Reese, then to my family he is a different person...it's hard ya'll...

So when he called Abby last weekend to plan her sweet 16 party I was a little taken back, NOT because he wanted to do a party for her BUT because he was letting her have a friend party...Now how in the HELK am I suppose to have a party for her, I can't honestly expect her friends to come to two parties...It would have been nice for him to consider the fact that maybe we were planning something as well...

Before I go on, your probably saying... but Georgie you dislike Children Bday parties, going to them OR having them, isn't that why you bribe your kiddos with cold hard cash...yes TRUE all TRUE BUT this is a special milestone Birthday...even I recognize that fact.

So I do what any good mother would do...I close my bedroom door for privacy then swear, stomp my feet, shed a few tears and call the X-factor to implore him that we do this party T-O-G-E-T-H-E-R. It's silly to have 2 parties days apart, surely we can put our differences aside and work together for our daughters sake...surely...

Abby invited 20 of her nearest and dearest, to a dinner party, at her favorite restaurant, he will take care of the bill, then I will buy the cake,invitations and any incidentials.

I bought these to go inside little tiny bags that we will decorate and make into place settings putting each girls name on the bag-with 20 girls I thought place setting cards were in order-forgive the quality of the photo-my camera is broke so I had to use Jess's cheapy thingy-it's a wired star necklace set. Hey Nikon or Cannon contact me...I'm certain I could take a good photo with one of your cameras

Just something little, goodie bags are so cliche' for 16 yr olds but I wanted to add a personal touch...

The X has officially complained about the number of girls she invited(she asked him how many friends she could invite...his words...you ONLY turn 16 once so you decide) then he told me I was just ree-dic-u-lous for buying the necklaces and paying $75-100 for a cake...I know the cake is a bit much, I wish one of my friends did cakes, she wants one of those yucky tasting BUT oh so pretty fondant cakes and I'm no Betty Crocker, Cake Boss OR Ace of Cakes...what's a mom to do?

So I lock myself in the bathroom turn on the shower and sob because I'll be damned if he is gonna get the best of me in front of the childrens and I refuse to let Abby know how hard it is dealing with this man-it's not her issue, it's mine. So I take my moment, suck it up and put on my happy face, chanting I can do this...I can do this...

Needless to say I have been a bit preoccupied as of late-the invitations have been sent ONLY to find out Abby will probably have to cheer at a playoff game the night she planned her party AFTER she confirmed with 2 coaches that NO you will not be cheering for that game...so I let her lay her head in my lap and cry as I told her... it will all work out...it will all work out...and no she can't miss the game-10 of the 20 girls she invited are on her cheer squad and I don't expect those girls to miss the game either...

If you have read this far and you have an X-factor feel free to make me feel better by saying yours is worse than mine...

Changing thought process-we are still waiting on 3 SSS participants to confirm they received their exchange partners info PLEASE check your email and let us know you did in fact receive the email with your exchange partners info-otherwise it leaves me scrambling to try and fill those spots with elves...and removing your name from list...

On Sunday Eric had to run some errands and offered to take Jess to get her Halloween costume, I personally thought he was on drugs or had been body snatched since he offered to take 'the girls' (the word GO and Abby are one in the same-jingle your car keys and she's at the door) shopping. Most men in their right mind wouldn't offer to SHOP with GIRLS... let alone TEEN girls... but I didn't question him, I was all like 'it's your funeral' in my mind of course...I would never....

Later in the day while I was giving myself a mud mask and body scrub... Abby called---sorry MOM I think you called during my time of zen... (keep in mind Eric is on a hunt for Jessica's costume)

Me: Strawberry? Like Strawberry Shortcake?

Abby: Yesssss-it's so cute Momo

Me: I can't wait to see it... Oh what did Jess get?

Short & Sweet SSS Update

The weather is cool, I have a fire roaring-it's probably not that cool but...it is putting me in the Holiday mood and spirit...I know I know it's not even Halloween yet, I'm as bad as wal*mart when they go putting out the Holiday decor before Oct 1st(mines not out YET). It can't be helped I LOVE this time of year and each day as the SSS list grows and I visit the participants blogs I am reminded there are only 70 days until Christmas...even less for our little bloggy SSS

Today is the last day for Secret Santa Soiree sign-ups. We have 84 confirmed participants-meaning they have emailed us and their Q&A has been sent. The Linky shows 87, if you want to join us, we need an email from you so we can send your Q&A.

What comes next:

Over the next few weeks Amybo and I will divide the list and start matching everyone up with an exchange partner. We will send your partners name starting the first week of November. That's the text I got at 6am yesterday morning and since I don't text I walked the 20 steps from one room to another to say 'HUH' cuz we are so Proper here in Oklahoma. In which I heard 'Mom I think I have poison ivy'

Let me re-tell you about Reese and Poison Ivy-the boy can smell it and get it, he can walk past it and get it, he can think about it and get it and it almost always warrents a trip to the Doc, for a shot...but it ain't(yes I said AIN't) contagious...

He doesn't elaborate so I toss him some resinol(it's the miracle cream) and a blow dryer(we've been here before) and tell him if the itching becomes unbareable go to the nurse and call me and I send him on his merry way...cuz I'ma a good mom...I gave him cream and a blow dryer...

Me: Housekeeping...
Caller: Silence...
Me: Uno Dos Tres'
Caller: MOMMMMM

Me:busted: yeah?
Caller: who will now be referred to as Reese: I'm at the nurses' office
Me: O-K-A-Y
Reese: She wants me to show her my R-A-Ssss-H
Me: So show her
Reese: MOM...it's below my belly button...
Me: *gulp* you didn't tell me this before...O-K-A-Y and...
Reese: It's down there with my junk
Me: What REAL men don't show their junk?
Reese: MOM!!!!
Me: O-K-A-Y I'm on my way....

So anytime you get a rash here you gotta get a doctors note saying you are NOT contagious before you come back to school...I wanna stop here for a dramatic pause...

Me: Nights, why?
Reese: I think I have the CRABS and I want dad to take me to the doctor
Me: THE CRABS? Do you even know what/how you get the crabs?
Reese: REAL men get the crabs Mom
Me: I thought it was poison ivy? IT WAS POISON IVY THIS MORNING...RIGHT?
Reese: It's the crabs MOM
Me: You don't want the shot do ya?
Reese: Jason says if you have the crabs you don't get a shot
Me: Who the helk is Jason?
Reese: Nevermind MOM-when is dad waking up?
Me: Soon...
Reese: M-O-M...DON'T BLOG about this
Me: Okay son....

Nothings sacred in this household-I had my fingers crossed...just sayin...

I have obviously failed as a mom...just sayin...I guess that birds and bees talk didn't go so well-no where in my moms manual did it ever say I would have to explain the difference between poison ivy and THE crabs...nor did I ever think my son would think IT COOLer to have the crabs over poison ivy just to avoid a shot...

Since I don't measure up-
(I'm not bitter I only birthed you, breast feed you and changed your dirty diapers, went to every parent-teacher conference,dealt with pissed off parents when you made balloon animals out of condoms and proudly made halloween masks with a tampon stick-where I got a note from the teacher sayin...maybe you should check his back-pack before he leaves for school )
Nope I'm not bitter...Your dads with you at the after-hours clinic where you will see Dr. Mason and I am sure SHE will take good care of you and all your junk...

My Confession for today: Welcome to MY world...I didn't have brothers or grow up with boy cousins...REESE is a learning curve for me everysingledayandheisfourteen!
