Tuesday Tidbits

Today is Tuesday and I have a few Tidbits for you-Tuesday Tidbits is kinda like Friday Fragments-it's a way for me sound all crazy with a label behind it hence making me feel like I am not sounding crazy-got it? ;-)

Some of you have asked about Daddy-We celebrated his Birthday(Thanks you all for your well wishes and B-Day wishes) on Monday-the Nurses sang Happy Birthday to him-it was all so sweet!

Daddy had a very hard week with his treatments. By Tuesday he had some side effects from the Ifosfamide called Central neurotoxicity which basically means sleepiness, confusion and occasionally hallucinations-let's just say he was a walking zombie-he lost 2 whole days last week. I was a nervous nelly-he couldn't get words out,it's like his brain and speech capabilities weren't connecting-Scary Stuffs I tell ya...

He is at the faloozies house this week and is doing better. Daddy has decided he is done with Chemo-he and his body have had enough, so now he will do radiation treatments-below is a pic from last Monday with his cake.

In other news 'The Plate' has made it to my house!!! What plate-you ask...this plate!

I will be doing a post about the traveling plate in the next few days-then I will pass it on to one of you lucky peeps...

In still more news it was Monday night lites last night and while I think this lil tidbit deserves it's own post I would be all sounding bragish and boasting with Pride and I wouldn't wanna make anyone sick-so *caution* bragging zone ahead...

Middle bean had a big game against Jenks last night-he has come a long way since they first picked the teams at the begining of the season-oh he is still one of the smallest but he has gained skillz and has been a starter for his position in every game- so last night he was playing defense and gaurding his man when Jenks threw the ball....

Did he catch it?

OH YES he did!!!! INTERCEPTION for a 50 yard run back- YAY BUBS!!!! he juked this way, he juked that way- See those two bigger BA boys-they knocked even bigger Jenks boys out of bubs way so he would not get hurt could get those 50 yards! It was a team effort, everybody did their jobs and middle bean got a taste of carrying the ball. I of course was jumping up and down screaming like a banshee "GO BUBS! YAY BUBS! LAWDOG is Da MAN!" and I have about 15 more pics which are nothing but a big Ol' blur-snapping pics while jumping up and down doesn't equal quality pics...

A photographer for our local newspaper was there and now middle bean is going to be in the paper, I am beaming with Pride I tell ya-not so much for me BUT for him-for all the doubters-I knew he had it in him...

After the game I asked him how it felt- he said " mom my adreneline was pumping so hard-I was MAD not Mad, Mad but I wanted to scream and get back out there and take someone out" ahhh the glory of an interception...He has one game left, then Basketball starts...

My confession for today: Middle bean got ice cream for dinner

  3. yea!!!! my 12 year old played pee wee football when we were in the states a couple of years ago. the first game the team we played fumbled the ball and will recovered it. when the announcer (who was all kinds of awesome) said "fumble recovered by number 82 Willlllll Dixonnnnnnnnn" i thought i would burst with pride. he never did much else during the games, but that one thing gave him enough to last the season!

  9. Thanks Ya'll yes he was still beaming this morning i am so happy for him!

"J" to be honest I have very mixed feelings about daddy stopping chemo-he has 1-2 more treatments left-he was so close to the end on the other side I see the side effects of the drugs and it is heartbreaking-there are NO words to describe what someone goes through during chemo-if you have ever had chemo or cared for someone that has, then you know what i speak of...

The Dr told daddy it was his call and that he would never make him feel bad or try and talk him out of it IF he decided to stop chemo before treatment was done....radiation will be a good alternative-he had a rapid growing sarcoma and his orthopedic oncologist felt like she got all the cancer out of his leg-only time will tell-

  17. aww... he looks happy! I was thinking about him this weekend after I read one of your posts.

That's cool that there is a traveling plate! I was doing a traveling t-shirt for my 3-Day walk (at http://our3day.com). I sent it around the country to people that donated. The only problem is that it lingered for awhile at some stops!

  26. My son plays both football and basketball too.

He recovered a fumble the other day and was so shocked he just stood there holding the ball up.

We are still laughing about it.

Glad your Dad is feeling a bit better.
