That's her, my sweet, darling oldest daughter, the one, who the minute I found out I was having a girl, I knew her name would be Abby Lain...
okay now that we all know who I am talking about...I get a call from her school today from the attendance office asking where she is..."HUH?" No really that's what I said-the attendance lady who apparetly has nothing better to do then scare the crap outta June Clever-esque moms like myself....Okay okay I am more Peg Bundy Suck it!
So I say "well I know she got on the bus this morning" the lady replies "well we have her absent in 1st -5th hours"...then it hits me...Abbys IEP teacher was going to make 2 classroom changes/switches so I let her know that I am certain my daughter was at school and that she needs to check with her IEP teacher-that must be the mixup...the attendance lady soooooo did not believe me...
Come to find out they switched 5 out of 6 classes and never told oldest bean...she went to her regular classes, while her new classes marked her as absent...On the bus ride home from school she calls me in tears because she doesn't want her classes changed...So the school gave me a panic attack and now my oldest bean hates me because no one elses' beanie mama is as involved as I am....

Lilest bean had a play tonight so we all get gussied up and I bring my camera so I can snap pictures of the next Katherine Hepburn in action....
Here is lilest bean before she makes her debut....
Here is the stage...BUT you won't see her grace the stage OH No No No....look to the left of the stage
Here is a close up...
Yes that's her...The Sound technician!!!!
My confession for today: My lilest bean made your bean sound good...
She is adorable!
ReplyDeleteYour beans are soooo cute! My oldest hates his new classes too...whadda ya do?
ReplyDeleteI love your hearts..alllll over!
Awww! Hope Big Bean gets her schedule "the way she wants it".
ReplyDeleteI love your new header.
LMAo At your confession. Your bean made the whole show.
ReplyDeleteBoth such beautiful beans.
ReplyDeleteYay to the mom who knew where her kid was, and congrats on you sound tech. They have more fun and control that those on the stage anyways (I did the same thing in school).
ReplyDeleteA real person calls from the school when your child is absent?!? We get a recording. A totally clueless recording that no matter how many times you ask it questions, simply can not answer you. (sigh)
ReplyDeleteI think it's great that your lil one is a techie! My daughter's school did student directed mini plays this year and one of them was Life As A Techi, Or Something Like It, and the student that directed was a techie. It was my favorite of all the minis.
You have some very adorable beans! :) That is my nick name for my MIL and SIL!! :) Very cute!
ReplyDeleteYou make cute beans!
ReplyDeleteDang, sound tech is the most important role! Good for her!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad your oldest bean was "found", that was kinda scary huh? Sorry she's not wanting her classes changed, can't blame here there. Are they going to mark her as being in school since she really was there?
poor missing bean! she's a beauty... quit making her cry.
ReplyDeletelooks like lil bean did great! the brains behind the whole operation!
Quit picking on your oldest bean. It's not nice to shake up a teenager's schedule! : )
ReplyDeletegreat new look around these parts Georgie. Also, poor oldest bean and way to go lil bean!
ReplyDeleteCute little beans!!! Sorry about big beanie's schedule...that is not good for beans to have their world rocked like that. And go lil bean for excelling at sound!!!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne
What a way to scare the crap out of you!!! YIKES! It is nice when you know your kid and know they wouldnt be skipping, hello 1 and 5, she is smarter than that, she would take the whole day off....!
ReplyDeleteI am with Abby, leave well-enough alone, ISD!!! And yea Jess! Nothing throws a show off more than a doorbell in the wrong place. Sound peeps are the bomb!!!
ReplyDeleteGirls!
ReplyDeleteYour beans are beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteOh my, I thought this was going to be a post about Beans gone bad!
ReplyDeleteI am SO glad it was the schools fault and poor Big Bean having to go through all that. Around our house, change is a VERY hard thing : (
I'm imagining Lil Bean playing sad dramatic Lifetime movie music for the soundtrack of her sad sisters day....
My mom was always really cool about things. As long as I got straight A's, she would always say "she's home sick" when the school called even though she knew I was skipping school. I still got griped out at home but I didn't get in trouble at school. She always thought putting a kid in ISS was stupid so thats why she lied for me.
ReplyDeleteChange is hard, I can sympathize with oldest bean!
ReplyDeleteLove your little sound technician! too cute!
My high school started the calling thing this year (finally), and my 'missing in action' SR bean was NOT a schedule mis-communication:)
ReplyDeleteWHAT Pretty Beans you have my dear:)
Yep, you do have pretty beans. The only call I ever got from the school was when Chickie Boy fell and bumped his head, but not the time he actally fell and bumped his head and got a minor concussion. No, that one didn't warrent a phone call.
ReplyDeleteGood old lack of communication...Gotta love it.
ReplyDeletecute girls, nothing better in live than kids!
ReplyDeleteAll of your beans are absolutely darling, Georgie. I love how you wrote that you are more Peg Bundy than June Cleaver. As blogger Moms, aren't we all? :)
ReplyDelete-Francesca
I think our kids go to the same school! How odd is that; however, I could be wrong it has happened ONCE before a long, long time ago? Is she a "roadrunner"?
ReplyDeleteOh, I am just as involved. I feel your pain!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great pot of Beans! I'm the mom of a 17 yr-old-dtr. and 13 yr-old-son so, I'm there with you. Hey, thanks SO much for stopping by for a visit. I hope you'll come back. :D
ReplyDeleteThat would have freaked me out too! I don't look forward to those teen years. I know it's gonna be really hard! You are doing the right thing being involved. Someday she will thank you.
ReplyDeletePoor oldest bean...
ReplyDeleteI love it that lil bean is the sound tech! That rocks.
Love the new look!
ReplyDeleteCute kiddos!!!!! Good for you for being a concerned mom! That is so cute she was the sound tech...did she want that job?
I love the new background and header!! I wish I knew how to do something cool like this...I have a Pimpmyspace thingy that I can't get rid of so I keep my blog blacked out. UGH!
ReplyDeleteWhy are they messing with her schedule? And not tell the right people???
I hate having to deal with someone that THINKS they know the truth and they don't really have a clue to what is going on. You can scream the truth and they still don't hear it. They can be so smug and ignorant at the same time. And I'll stop right there before I overload something and my brain explodes.
First of all, your beans are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI had that happen to us once only it's an automated system that informs us. Usually the call comes in the evening. My teen was right there listening, swearing that he was in school. He was. Same situation. Classes. LOL
Love the new look of the blog.
ReplyDeleteI've giving you the Lemonade Award for Attitude and/or Gratitude. Check my blog for details

Hooray for Little Bean handling the sound:)
ReplyDeleteBoooooo Booooo I say to the attendance person.
You know, H.S. is hard enough for kids without the school being suspicious of them immediately. I'm guessing from Abby's picture and beautiful smile that she's not in the office every day for fights, skipping or beating up kids in the hallway. I think the attendance person could have been given you and her the benefit of the doubt. Okay, done with my rant.
You have some great beans.
ReplyDeleteHave I told you that I have a bean as well, we call Jillian - Jillybean!!
You've been doing some changes (FANTASTIC) on your blog. Love the new look. 'Course, I loved the old look, too!
ReplyDeleteI'm feeling bad for Abby. :( I can only imagine how hard that would be for a beautiful, cheerleader, teen, GIRL!!
ReplyDeleteLittlest bean has a great job! I'm glad she likes it.
I am lovin' your new layout! I hope the classes thing gets all straightened out! And asj your sound tech if she can make me sound like Celine Dion when I sing!
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA And here I thought she skipped school and you were going to post about how you beat her when she got home! lol
ReplyDeletetotally LOVE the new blog look. It's fab. and the header is killer. Glad you figured out the attendance problem before a full scale panic. That's probably what I would have done. You're a good momma.
ReplyDeleteFunny. I just read "3 baby chicks" post where she was giving us permission to throw beans at people. I'm guessing she meant different types of beans... Hmmm. ☺
ReplyDeleteHopefully everything gets sorted for your daughter's classes. How confusing! If my parents got the call that I wasn't in class, it was because I wasn't.. on purpose. :S
Way to go little bean! "My lilest bean made your bean sound good..." sounds like an awesome bumper sticker!!
Oh, that was always my son's job at the plays...it is a rather important one too!
ReplyDeleteI am hosting "Love on Wednesdays" for the month of February. Come on over and share some love!!
Your beans are so beautiful! Your oldest looks just like you!
ReplyDeleteI volunteer for the absentee line at school a couple of times a month, and I'm always afraid to call a parent, in case of a mistake. I don't want to scare them to death!
Poor Abby :( Are they still gonna change her classes? And is there really a neccessity for that?
ReplyDeleteLil Bean = sound tech! Love it.
Cute beans! My hubby loved working as the stage crew and sound tech when he was in middle school. Not every star is on the stage, right?
ReplyDeleteWhat is it with schools and always making you feel like your kid is a criminal? So glad I no longer have to deal with those morons.
ReplyDeleteIt's great that Lilest Bean is the sound techie. A good production always needs a good crew. I've been on both sides of that fence, and the crew works far harder than the "stars". Three cheers for the crew!
