Movies that make me cry

Is it Tuesday already? Z-packs were given out, beans are back at school, I even subbed today(Jill all the beans LOVED my necklace)...I had hoped to talked about entrecard and how much I ♥ it...but all I have running through my vains are sad movies...

Since I have spent so much time in bed YES I caught the bug and my anniversary was spent with tissues, toilets and tv...why is it all the sad movies play when you are sick? I mean I couldn't find Jaws or Grease or Pretty in Pink while I was lay'd up in bed...

So I watched....

Rudy
Terms of Endearment
As Good As It Gets
Under the Tuscan Sun
We Are Marshell
The Color Purple
Beaches
A Walk to Remember
Braveheart
The Green Mile

So what movie makes you break into tears?

My confession for today: Sorry about the comment moderation-just know it was neccesary...

  1. Wow, I don't think I could watch all those movies in one sitting!

Good Will Hunting always makes me cry.

  2. Glad everyone is feeling better. Z-packs are a gift handed straight down from Mt. Olympus.

Make me cry: "Steel Magnolias," "She's Having a Baby"

And you having to turn on comment moderation. A thousand plagues to the person(s) who's making you do that. Em

  3. Terms of Endearment and Steel Magnolias - my top 2. I even listed those two on my blog profile. They kill me. And I've seen them each 6,234,567,132 times. Seriously. I cry every time.

  4. Love them all.
    Glad your feeling better :)

  5. I watched Million dollar baby last night and bawled.

    Other good cries include:
    Stepmom
    Hope floats
    Life is beautiful
    Shindler's list

  6. Those are all great for a good cry!

I hope you are feeling better!!

  9. As many movies that make me cry, way more make my hubby cry. He would kill me for telling! Oh well. I cry in more listening to music though than watching movies. The song that ALWAYS makes me cry is the song Raskel Flatts sings (I've gone blank) about the girl that got cancer and her date shaves his head. Gets me everytime!

  10. okay TG...I LOVE Stepmom!!! as a matter of fact your entire list makes me boo hoo...in a good way

  11. I don't cry easily, but it's the TRUE movies of tragedy and despair that get me - Shindler's List, Life is Beautiful. For some reason, The Hours made me cry at the end, but I didn't even realize it until the lights came on! Weird.

  12. OHHHH, it's called "Skin" but we call it Sara Beth. Sorry, it just hit me.

  13. Braveheart, Steel Magnolias, Schindler's List, oh and Encino Man, except that is from laughing so hard. Love you, Georgie...glad the beans are better!

  14. P.S. I Love You gets me EVERY time! I also cry at Brave Heart EVERY time! Another really big tear jerker is Shakespear In Love, anything Romeo & Juliet related. Ok, I'm done if I keep going I'll be a wreck cause I'll have to watch them..LOL! Glad everyone is feelin better! :)

  15. Terms of Endearments gets me... & Steel Magnolias...

  16. Jill gave you a necklace!!!! Dang her! Glad everyone is getting better. And I'm a ball bag, I cry at commercials.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I hope you are feeling better..or at least getting there! I personally can't make it through Ladder 49 without crying. I saw that in a theatre and even cried there!

P.S. I like the new bloggy look..your header is super duper cute!

  18. The ones that kill me are Forrest Gump, A Walk to Remember, and The Notebook. Every. Freaking. Time.

Any story that has the underdog winning gets me to cry too.

    ReplyDelete
  19. "PS I Love You" gets me, too. Good tear-jerkers are always good to clear the sinuses.

So glad you and the necklace were a hit and that you are getting better.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Glad everyone is on the mend! Yay for Zpacks.

I always cry on Beaches, Stepmom and even Merry Christmas Charlie Brown. It's just so sad that Charlie Brown has good intentions with the tree and he gets laughed at. (As you can tell, I'm a sappy person).

There are more but I can't remember them at the moment.

  21. I'm pre-menopausal...I cry at dog food commericals.

I have been wondering where you were.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh BEACHES will definitely bring you to tears! Glad to hear ya'll are better now!

  23. And yes I cry at commercials, too, so it doesn't take much to bring me to tears....

  24. It doesn't take much to make me cry. The movies that don't make me cry have too much blood and guts which I just cannot do!

    ReplyDelete
  25. My favorite movie is Terms of Endearment! I know it's sad but it's so darn good!

    ReplyDelete
  26. Hope you are starting to feel better.

Out of Africa....it just breaks my heart.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I could watch The Color Purple a zillion times, and every time I will cry, best movie ever.
And Cinderella Man gets me most of the time too.
Any movie with kids that lose their parents, or the parents abandon or abuse them (like Secret Life of Bees) just kill me, bring on the kleenex for any of them...
    Glad you're feeling better Georgie!

  28. Any of those could make me tear-up, but The Color Purple makes me sob. I start when Shug Avery starts singing "Maybe God Is Trying to Tell You Something" and I don't stop until well after the credits have finished rolling. (In fact, I just visualized the church scene and have tears in my eyes right now. Let's blame the pregnant hormones, shall we?)

  29. Oh steel Magnolias gets me every time. Also, the notebook. I cry at the end every time!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Glad you are feeling better and on the road to recovery.

I'm like Amy, I cry at everything (including commercials and American Idol) but the movie that I love that gets me every time is Legends of the Fall.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Glad you're starting to feel better. I love sad movies myself. Weird, eh?

    ReplyDelete
  32. The Notebook, hands-down, is the saddest movie I have ever watched...but for some reason, I watch it repeatedly.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh man that is a lot of movies and those are all really good ones. I think The Notebook is one of my favorites I remember going to see it at the movies and crying my eyes out at the end.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I refuse to watch anything with the potential to make me cry. Life is hard enough as it is and I want a movie that will take me away, not slam me down into it. JILL made you a necklace? We'd better not be talking about the same Jill. grrr

But, I will say this about the movies that make me cry: I've never, ever, EVER gotten over OLD YELLER. Disney should have been the one getting shot. Not Yeller. And all the doggie was trying to do was save.....save his.......and then.......and he was put in a cage........and looked up........and....."oh hell".....

    ReplyDelete
  35. Steel Magnolias...and I CAN'T watch Stepmom anymore. I refuse. I BAWL!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I hate sad movies! Which is ironic, since I write such sad stuff sometimes. hahahahaha. It just occured to me how weird that is. Anyway! WILD HEARTS CAN'T BE BROKEN. When I saw it 1991, I cried all the way home. My young groom was certain, at that point, he'd married a mental case. I wrote about this on my blog once. I totally could NOT handle that chick going blind. All the way home I was like, "She's blind! She's blind!" my husband was whispering softly, "It was just a movie, Jen."

    "But, she's blind now!"

    ReplyDelete
  37. Steel Magnolias, Beaches, P.S. I love you, Griffin & Phonix, Remember Me, when I was pregant I cried watching Hook but that probably shouldn't count.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Ooooohhhhh....yes, I remember Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken--that was a huge tear jerker. I still think Brian's Song is one of the saddest. There's also Radio, Walk to Remember... I avoid tear jerkers whenever possible. I cry like a baby!

    ReplyDelete
  39. Oh Beaches makes me cry every time I watch it. I can always count on Steel Magnolias to make me cry a river!! Also, that one scene in Dirty Dancing when Baby and her dad are having that deep talk on the front porch of their cabin...ugh, it rips my heart out every single time!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Terms of Endearment killed everyone!!!! And definitely Beaches!! I had to shut my eyes at the end of Braveheart. That was a brutal time, it was!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Goodness...I'm a big crybaby anyway! I guess the biggest tearjerkers for me are the Hallmark commercials. Oh wait, you wanted movies. Hmmmmmmm....Steel Magnolias, def. And the Money Pit, Raisin' Arizona and What about Bob make me laugh till I cry.
I'm glad you're all feeling better! Maybe that bug won't come back to your house~

  43. I just finished watching Out Of Africa for the eleventy billionth time, and cried my eyes out AGAIN. As always. Every single time!

I've watched and cried at all the movies on your list but Under the Tuscan Sun which I have yet to see. Oh and I only have seen The Green Mile once because it made me cry so, so hard my husband was getting concerned! I sobbed and sobbed through that one!

    I'm such a sap. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  44. All good ones--I just cried like a baby at the movies over the damn Marley & Me.

  48. I cry at commercials, for heaven's sake. But I agree with almost all of the above, plus I actually cry at Forrest Gump, when he meets his son, and when Jenny dies....

    ReplyDelete
  49. All of the movies listed are tear jerkers. What about Brian's Song or Love Story for over the top teariness.

    ReplyDelete
  50. I'm glad your better! If I watch Fried Green Tomatoes...it starts the water works.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I cried through most of "P.S. I Love you" but loved it still.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Oh man... Beaches gets me everytime... as well as Armageddon, Steel Magnolias, Titanic. I can't say much though... I actually cried in the the theater years ago when I saw Flubber. That's really ridiculous!!

    ReplyDelete
  53. Hey Girlie,

Hope you are feeling better! I am still fighting bronchitis. I think coughing should count as a ab workout.

I just saw Gran Tourino and that made me tear up.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Armageddon just kills me.........no clue why though. Feel better hun.

    ReplyDelete
  55. GLAD YOU ARE BETTER! Lot of people missed you. Lot of people love you.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I recently saw the movie, "House of Sand and Fog" and there is a part in the movie that not only made me cry but my husband as well.

    ReplyDelete
  57. All those movies you listed are good ones. It's been a while since I cried while watching a movie.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Oh! Great movies there. I love me some Pretty in Pink.

    Movies that make me cry...

    Terms of Endearment
    Beaches
    The Color Purple
    Bridges of Madison County
Eight Below (lol) Yes. It does.

    ReplyDelete
  59. OH MY FREAKING comments georgie!!! lol! I love those movies...but I can't stand to watch anything sad when I'm sick...I have to watch romantic comedies...it's a sickness in itself!

    ReplyDelete
  60. Terms of Endearment is the reason I refuse to watch sad movies in public anymore! What a classic, though. I rank it right up there with Steel Magnolias, for sure!

    ReplyDelete
  61. OH MY GOSH! BEACHES. It is the worst movie ever! I LOVE IT, but it makes me cry like crazy!

    ReplyDelete
  62. There are so many that make me cry and I can't think of any except Dumbo. This is one soon to be grandma who won't be watching Dumbo with her grandchildren!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I fight the tears so I usually finish those movies with a big ol' headache.
I loved a lot of those movies.
Was thinking about reading A Walk To Remember (saw the movie).
How about My Girl. It's an oldie but a goodie. I didn't check all of the comments so maybe someone said it? When that kid dies I lose it.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Hope you get to feeling lots better! AND you get a good anniversary date later!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Beaches is a movie that causes endless tears. I saw it in the movie theater with my grandmother who died from cancer herself.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Definitely The Notebook!

Love As Good As It Gets!

Sorry you have the need for comment moderation. I unfortunately do too....

    ReplyDelete
  67. I cry at so many but I still watch them over and over. I wonder why that is. Beaches, Steel Magnolias are up there. Even Freedom Writers made me cry last time I saw that. I am such a sap!!! Hope you're feeling better soon!

    ReplyDelete

  72. As Good As It Gets is one of my all time favorite movies. I try to avoid movies that make me cry, but still get choked up when Joe Fox finally walks up to Shop Girl at the park. Know which movie it is?!
