Back to School

So yesterday was back to school for us...this time of year always makes me happy, not just because I get my quiet mornings and afternoons back but because that means fall is right around the corner...I ♥ Fall

Abby and Reese are at the same school this year, I like that she keeps a lookout on her brother for me, whether he likes it or not, they had the same lunch period yesterday and she saw her brother sitting at a table by himself and she motioned him over-of course he would rather stick needles in his eyes than sit with his sister and her friends OH THE HORROR of it all...but it gives me comfort knowing she is there.

Jess moved up to middle school this year, my never let em see you sweat baby, I offered to go to school with her and help her, yanno wait outside her classes and carry her books, help her with her locker...she laughed at me...don't judge, she cracked open her big toe and it's all black and purple, she needs her mom, she just hasn't realized it yet...

After I dropped them all off, I pulled into my driveway and cried, I cried because my lil pimpess who swore she would never grow up is now a 6th grader, I cried for Reese in hopes the big 10th graders don't stuff him in a trash can, I cried for Abby because she has matured into this beautiful young adult and I wondered where has the time gone...BUT don't cry for me Argentina, I ran inside and hugged my PC and said mine, mine, mine ALLLL Mine....

Roots and Wings...

My confession for today: My MIL is sending me on a spa day, I think I need it...

  1. I felt that once. I dropped off my youngest for 1st grade. She didn't need me any more. "I can do it myself Mom." And she's been doin' it ever since. And as she walked in the school house, I decide right there I wanted another baby!! I was going to go home, wake up my husband and make another baby. I'm so fertile and all, all I have to do is just will it! Yep! I'm gonna have another baby.....but the closer I got to home...and the thought of EarlLee pantin' all over me....the desire to have another baby with him flat died when I turned in the driveway.

    They grow up.
And I've noticed that they come back....and never leave!!!

    You'll be fine.

  4. I am looking forward to my kids first day - not for another 12 days or so! Oldest is starting middle school (7th grade for him), my middle son will now be at the intermediate school (4th grade for him) and my youngest starts KINDERGARTEN!

You mean your son didn't want to be surrounded by hot upper classmen girls? You need to talk to that boy!

  5. Jess looks so grown up. You need to stop that from happening. At once.

Soooo glad you have your puter back. Does that mean I may "see" you somewhere? Anywhere? Sheesh.

  6. My oldest starts Jr High in a week and a half and I am sure tears will be shed. They grow up way too fast. I still got a few years till they are all in school though.

  7. This is so sad to me!!! I cry EVERY year when school starts, because it means they are growing up and not as dependant on mommy anymore! :(
Your kids all look grown up! They look like really good kids!! Congrats on that!

  8. I'm with you Georgie. I love the fall as well and back to school time. This year will be the last one for me. My only child is a senior. I know this last year will whiz by and it makes me a bit sad really. I know everyone says this but it really is true. It seems like his first day of school was only yesterday.

  9. Well, my oldest is 27 and my youngest is graduating from college this fall. You know, I really get a bit sad this time of year. Back to school was such a big thing when they were younger, clothes shopping, school supply buying, the hustle of getting ready for the big day back, I really miss that. Enjoy this time...it goes by so quick, you can not imagine.

  15. Awwww, Georgie, this post made me shed some tears. It's so bittersweet, isn't it?? My 4-yr old twins are at kindergarten camp this week to prep them for next week when kindergarten officially starts. I can barely stand to drop them off b/c it makes me wanna cry. I've been making my hubby drop them off this week and then I call him immediately afterwards while he's on his way to work and grill him with all kinds of questions..."they didn't cry, did they?", "did they seem happy?" and he's like "why don't you just drop them off next time?". He just doesn't get it.

The slideshow was wonderful....you have such beautiful happy children!!!!

  16. Your children look very happy!

I love this time of year too. You know what I always thought sucked when I was a kid, though? Back to school clothes. We bought them in August but we had to buy clothes that would be wearable for a while so they were always winter clothes. Of course, now teens just put long sleeved shirts under their T-shirts in the winter...or don't wear long sleeves or coats at all...
