Friday Fragments

Oh Yeah it's Friday which means it's Friday Fragment time...

I had to get glasses, as if the wrinkles, dark circles under my eyes, and hot flashes weren't already enough to remind me that I'm not in my twenties anymore, I now proudly sport these

Eric laughed at me...he said I picked out grandpa glasses...what, are we like 11? AND this coming from a man who wears the goofiest nineteen seventies glasses evah...pffft

I just realized I haven't posted since the 29th...that's either a good thing or a bad thing...truth be told so much has happened in my life I am just spent in every sense of the word...

_____________________________

A friend of Abby's committed suicide last Friday, his funeral was yesterday...the loss of this young man has left me reeling...Parents PLEASE talk to your tweens and teens-Suicide is NEVER the answer...

_____________________________

Speaking of Abby she has had her drivers license for almost 2 weeks now, it is just so surreal to me, that I have a child that is driving...chalk that one up to making me feel older too...

Have ya'll been to urban dictionary? It has been going around on FaceBook... Well against my better judgment  I went and typed in my name and it told me this:

Georgina = Angel from Above
A beautiful name,(an angel from above) a fantastic name for a girl, Especially when a special someone is amazing in so many ways, kind in heart and soul, but most of all a smile that lights up a dull and dark room. Beautiful in every way.

I was all like awww I have a nice name then I continued to read-which I don't advise you to read past the first definition of your name if you visit urban dictionary because it went on to tell me this...

First there is town called georgina-not so bad...
Georgina (Population 42,346) is a town in south-central Ontario,Canada, eh?
Then it told me...
A person who steals other people's boyfriends, including their friends'.
which I find comical...but just incase, ya'll keep your boyfriends away from me...don't say you weren't warned =)

But that wasn't the end of my name definition-
A Chicken farmer in the reigon of Grimsby ontario who is a slut, likes DC and scares little children away.
I guess back in Ontario I have a reputation of sorts

and lastly...

a girl who has rats/mice in her room
You heard it here first folks...

My confession for today: I have a fun hair accessory giveaway coming up next week

  1. I went to Urban Dictionary and was unable to print any of mine! They were all nasty! What do you think that says about me?

  2. Hey girlie! We need a pic of you sporting your new glasses! You not old - cuz if you old i'm old! LOL!
So sad about Abby's friend! I've heard about the same child (I'm sure) through other people here at work! EXTREMELY sad! I can't imagine! How does a parent survive after your child does something like that? UH! I don't even want to think about it! God be with all of them!

  8. I'm so very sorry for Abby's friend's family. He left them with so many unanswered questions. I can only imagine how devastated they are.

Woohoo...Abby is driving. That's exciting and frightening at the same time. I remember that one well BUT if she is a good and safe driver, there's nothing to worry about. I'm sure you have the "no texting while driving" rule and "no loud music while driving" rule. She'll be fine!

Can't wait to see your glasses. As you know, I just got mine. I am mourning my contacts but oh well. Se la vie.

  19. I'm still just heartbroken about Abby's friend. Another one of my FB friends' son was also friends with the same boy. I'm sure all the kids are having a very hard time with it. She had posted it was an accident?

I refuse to wear glasses. I'll wear contacts until my eyes either won't support them or my fingers are too frail and shaky to put them in. LOL!

    Have a great weekend! =)

  29. Sorry to hear about the loss of your daughters friend!! Suicide is so scary!! It is so hard to explain to people with hormones, that even though they feel something is a 10 right now, time will give you a better perspective of it! and it may even fall to a 2/3 in importance.

I have been buying up cheap reading glasses because I can not keep up with mine!!! Ugh!!! I figure if I buy enough there will always be a pair somewhere when I need it!

    ReplyDelete
  30. I have those glasses!! My husband thinks I'm hot when I wear them. Go figure.

As for tweens and teens and suicide, yes, we need to be there for our children, and especially when they're teens. They need us even more. So sad for Abby's friend.
