The ladies over at RHOK are asking 'What is your idea of a favorite vacation?'
Boss The Plane The Plane....
We have taken many vacations over the years and I have enjoyed them all BUT the question is MY idea of a favorite vacation...
Let's stop and look at the word vacation-
Pronunciation: \vā-ˈkā-shən\Function: noun
Usage: often attributive
Etymology: Middle English vacacioun, from Anglo-French vacacion, from Latin vacation-, vacatio freedom, exemption, from vacare
Date: 14th century
1: A vacation is a period of time during which you relax and enjoy yourself away from home.
When I am on va-ka-shen I don't wanna do anything but relax NONE of our previous vacations have been about re-lax-A-shen...more like go,go,go
So I give you Bora Bora

Sure it's touristy but I look at those photos and go AHHHhhhh...one day my friends one day...lounging on the beach a cool ocean breeze and handsome half nekkid cabana boy at my beckon call bringing me fruity drinks...yep that's IDEAL!
Of course there are several other tropical destinations I would love to visit like Seychelles island off the east coast of Africa,Curacao Located in the Caribbean Sea, or the Pink Sand Beaches of Harbour Island
So what's YOUR ideal vacation?
My confession for today: IF your gonna dream...dream BIG
Ooooooohhhhh.
ReplyDeleteAaaahhhhhh.
Sign me up.
Me too me too ... I'm coming with you and Baloney! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't deal well with total inactivity. A day or two, and I'm toast.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite vacations are historical--places with fascinating histories and (not coincidentally) great food.
Bora Bora sounds nice to me! I wouldn't mind a sandy beach and a fruity drink w/ a cute little umbrella in it! :)
ReplyDeleteAnywhere there are white sands, sun and half nekked cabana boy sounds great to me!!
ReplyDeleteMelinda
After seeing the definition, I truly believe I Have never had a real vacation. My ideal destination would be internet, cell phone and relatives free. It would be me, my husband, my baby and my camera. Somewhere where we can just spend time together enjoying each others company for a change. Instead of fleeting moments of peace we get now. Life keeps getting in the way!
ReplyDeleteVacation...I don't know if I've had one of those in years! I know that I would enjoy a place where I can not only relax but browse around shops, eat at some fantastic places, take plenty of pictures and sleep in!
ReplyDeleteI have been to Bora Bora--it is really not that touristy. Neither is Curacao--been there too, but going back in the next year or two, to scuba dive this time. Gorgeous place. The Seychelles are on my short list.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite place is Bonaire--near Curacao, and Anguilla--maybe the most peaceful place in the world.
Also, Capri is pretty sweet
The best vacations I ever had were at a lake about 2 hrs from here. We had bought a camper and had it permanently set up at a campground. Deck, our own shower, cable. Best part--no cell phone reception!!
ReplyDeleteI just instantly relaxed when looking at those photos! I think I just had a teeny vacation right here!
ReplyDeleteWait, can I change mine??? Oh Cabana boy.... ♥Mrs. Hart♥
ReplyDeleteYeah definitely - Ahhhh! Would love to join you at your fantasy island ;)
ReplyDeleteI like a place that has options to relax or be active and I like to go to a place and unpack once. Mountains, islands; I love them all!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to see you back in blog world. I have been on a lot of vacations over the years, but a cruise is my favorite way to go. I have not been any where lately, so wherever would suit me fine.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I think I'm like you. I'd love to go to some tropical locale where the weather is 100% perfect, lie in a hammock, and listen to the soothing sounds of the waves crashing onto the shore.
ReplyDeleteAhhh...I think I would give up Destin for that!!! Actually any beach is a go for me, a warm beach.
ReplyDeleteMy idea vacation usually involves a beach - but I found last year that lots of laughter with great friends is just as therapeutic as sand in my shorts!
ReplyDeleteI would love to do an island vacation too, but I also want to go to Alaska!
ReplyDeleteThis is easy! You already picked my ultimate vacation spot..... :) Someday we will get there woo hoo! I may never come back home if I do, I'm going rogue!
ReplyDeleteI like to relax and waste the hours on vacation.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the perfect choice to me!!
ReplyDeleteTake me to the florida coast, buy me a shrimp coctail and 6 pack of beer, slap on some sunscreen and leave me be. Perfect!
ReplyDeleteYou are a WINNER.....
ReplyDeleteSend you information to me at annah99@aol.con
So glad that you won...
