Crimson and Cream

So while I am getting my beauty sleep last night there was a party going on right HERE I apparently didn't get the memo, email, plane with flyover banner-I always miss the good stuff! At least my bra didn't get frozen or have toothpaste squirted into my hands that then stuck in my hair. Ahhhh bloggy sleepovers...

I have a point here and it has nothing to do with sleepovers-it has to do with colors Crimson and Cream to be exact-which had I been invited would have been my PJ color of choice-

Why Crimson and Cream? Well orange doesnt look good on me-I end up looking like a pumpkin minus the green topper, stem, swirly vines PLUS in Sooner country orange is a dirty word D-I-R-T-Y I tell ya...

Tonight is the big College National Championship BCS game between the OU Sooners and those Gators.

I am pretty sure there was just a breaking news alert that that the Gators have decided to forfiet tonights game...I kid I kid...It's gonna be a great game!

So I am asking you football fans out there to cheer on my Sooners tonight-crimson really is more slimming than orange!

On a side note: If you are an Oklahoma blogger meaning you live in Oklahoma and blog I am asking for your nom for the  2008 Okie Blog awards click that link back there and read all about it.

My confession for today: I ♥ the OU Sooners!

  4. While I usually HATE HATE HATE the Gators, I have to cheer for the good ol' SEC since they didn't pulled off anything good in the bowls! Ok, I think I just threw up in my mouth saying that I'd cheer for them. LOL Anywho, I can't wait for the game!

  9. I still torn....I haven't read the hype nor watched the sports shows....I just can't do it.
I have waited all year for this day.
It's the whole reason I sit on my couch and screamed at the TV during the Texas game. It's the whole reason for even looking at the sportpage in the TulsaWorld. OU FOOTBALL. It's the reason I painted my toes crimson and cream
For OU to be National Champions!!!!!

  10. Did you notice that I am a Florida girl??
I have a bazillion UF Alumni friends and several nieces/nephews who attend. I think if I root for your team, I may disappear tomorrow, never to be seen again.
I will be sportsman like and say "Good Luck". Best I can do because, you know, I really like this living thing.
    ;)

  11. Oh, Georgie, I thought we were bloggie soulmates and now I see that you are a Sooner fan?!?!?!? This will never work out - we are from two different worlds, me being a Gator fan and all. It would be a mixed marriage and how would we raise our children? Would we spend Christmas in OK or FL? I am just devastated that I can't support your Crimson and Cream...all I can say is GOOOOOO, GATORS!!!

  16. Being college football fans over here, Rooster will have the game on and be cheering for OU. But only because those Huskers already played their game! And Florida is never on our cheer list!

  17. Crimson is my color, too...as in Alabama BUT I will totally pull for the Sooners with you, as I do not like ORANGE.

  18. I like crimson better than orange because it reminds me of blood and blood reminds me of vampires and vampires reminds me of edward.

just kidding about the whole blood thing, well sort of...

I'm not an Orange wearer or a Cream Wearer...but I love your passion for a team! :)

  22. Those colours remind me of the song, Crimson and Clover. Remember it? Come on, admit it!

  23. I agree with you...crimpson and cream. In my neck of the woods it'd be crimpson and white. ROll Tide!
    I hope your team wins!

  24. I'm a Sooner fan for a day. Unless they start losing bad, then I'll revert to being a UNM Lobo fan.

  30. For tonight, and tonight only, I am with you. Two years ago tonight, I was in Arizona and watched Florida beat Ohio State in my first ever trip to a National Championship game. It was expensive. I was crushed. I hate Florida.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Watching the game right now!!!

    :-)

  32. Hi Georgie! Look at you and your beautiful blog. I'm so sorry you didn't see the flyover banner about the sleepover. Maybe because you're all the way out there in Oklahoma.

I wish I lived in Oklahoma so I could nominate you.

The sleepover has been extended into a retreat and we'll be playing truth or dare. Bring your best confession. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Well, Tn. Vol here so gotta stick with the SEC!
Game's over, there's always next year and don't I know it!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Orange and Black is WAAAAAY better than crimson and puke...I mean cream;) Though I seriously dislike Bob Stoops and his stupid Sooners (what kind of mascot is a sooner anyways?), we still cheered them on...

    ReplyDelete
  37. Boo! Hoo! Poor OU!!
    My dh is unconsolable.
It's a sad night in Okla.

  42. I love that you have nothin' but love for your OU Sooners. You are a #1 fan, if I have ever met one.

You inspire me to even try to hunt down the game on ESPN tonight!

PS: Once your team wins, will your blog be turned into a crimson site of loveliness in their honor? :)

  43. I'm a Sooner grad myself. Bummer about the game. :(
Orange is a horrid color - it truly is. Never been a color I like and has nothing to do with OSU or UT.
Hope you've recovered from the loss! At least we were at the big game!! That's all I can say at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Hey, my team (Ohio State) didn't win either....let's just call it a wash.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I LOVE cream and crimson. GO IU!! :)

Your kids will always remember "the time we sat in the rain and watched the Sooners"!
