All hope may not be lost since middle bean is now going to OKC on the same field trip in a few weeks-of course there will be conditions if I make the trip... like:
I have to act like I do not know middle bean
I can not talk to middle bean at any point
I can not ride on the same charter bus as middle bean
It would be great if I pretended to be someone eles's mom while on said field trip
If I could be sick that day middle bean would not be upset
I MUST be ready to go by 6:30am
I can not have lunch with middle bean
I can not walk in front of,behind or near middle bean at any point
Maybe I will just enjoy these pix that lilest bean took, middle bean has too many stipulations
My confession for today: I am going to try and get caught up on everyones blogs
Wow, so many demands... lol Have you thought about a guilt trip that somehow includes being down and out with your back, and how could they not want anything to do with you when you were near death with said back?
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. I hope middle Bean comes to her senses.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, how old is middle bean? My oldest still likes it when me or his dad come to things. I know that will end...
ReplyDeleteThe joys have having a middle bean!!
ReplyDeleteI remeber feeling that way when I was bean .... but I never told her ... LOL!
You need to have a t-shirt made that says" I am middle bean's mom" on the front. And then on the back it should say Middle Bean Loves her Mama...
ReplyDeleteSo basically, you have to pretend you don't even know Middle Bean. Sounds perfectly reasonable. ;)
ReplyDeleteAh the years of the stipulation. I sooo look forward to those. My chickies still want me to walk them into the school in the middle of yet another snow storm. No dropping off in the carpool lane. One MUST get out and walk them in. Your beanie took great pics, though!
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to be a mom of a tween!!! I sympathize with you! (It's even harder when you remember acting like that)
ReplyDeleteMy oldest is 14, and still wants me to hang out on trips. Loverly pics!
ReplyDeleteThose stipulations CRACKED ME UP!! Good to have you back!!
ReplyDeleteWow, those stipulations are pretty specific!! Do you kinda get the feeling she'd rather you didn't come? Oh man, I totally know that day is coming with my kids. Right now, they're eager for me to come along on field trips but I know at some point, they'll be like "Mom, really...don't feel like you have to come with us".
ReplyDeleteIn our family it's more a girl thing ~ boy seems to be okay having mom on trips ~ at least for now.
ReplyDeleteI got lucky in that department. My kiddos always asked me to go and hang with them. Cool honor.
ReplyDeleteYou should walk up and hold middle bean's hand during the tour...mortification!
ReplyDeleteYikes, Middle Bean is harsh. ;) I'd totally go with you, and I wouldn't have nearly as many rules. Plus, there would be a stop for ice cream involved at some point. Probably a latte, too.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful capitol building!
ReplyDeleteThe first time one of our children pretended NOT to know us my Hubby was so sad...after the third one did it...we were pretending we didn't know any of them! They outgrow it and now it's just a funny memory...and maybe part of a toast at a wedding! :)
Now there is the kind of place I would love to visit. So much history and secrets to be told. What a gorgeous building. Maybe middle bean will come to a compromise with you. Stranger things have happened!
ReplyDeleteThat is funny! My daughter is like that when I take her to dance. She does not want me to watch and instructs me to leave.
ReplyDeleteI like to see the pictures from their point of view. She took some nice pictures!
GEORGIE PORGIE! I found you! I went over to lovelycounty (after a ridiculously long absense to read your blog and found you had moved here.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to be reading about the beans again! (esweekender)
Okay, join me. I am starting a new group therapy called Teenagers Suck. You can be VP.
ReplyDeleteYOu always kill me...and those photos of the Capitol dome are STUNNING!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back. :)
Oh no.....you're in that stage of life. Thank goodness it doesn't last forever.
ReplyDeleteI think it's time to teach middle bean what humiliation really is! ;)
ReplyDeleteYikes. I guess this is what I get to look forward to in a few years, eh? Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully it passes quickly!!
ReplyDeleteHi Georgie!!
ReplyDeleteMissed you while you were gone! Glad to "see" you on my blog today. The mother daughter trip sounds fab.
Are you allowed to breath the same air?
ReplyDeleteI hate when they start thinking we're not cool anymore.
breathe - I mean.....duh.
ReplyDeleteI too have a tween "bean" though mine is sister sledge. I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics middle bean!
ReplyDeleteIt's sooooooooooo good to see you back! I've missed you! It was such a treat to see your comments again!
ReplyDeleteLOL
I love all of middle bean's conditions. HeeHee!
My son is 16. He still wants to "hang" with us parents. I guess we're pretty cool compared to some of his friends parents :)
ReplyDeleteAlso, my niece smothers everything in mayo. INCLUDING her pancakes!!! YUCK! PUKE! Blagghhh!!
Ah! I remember those times very well - heartbreaking!!!! But they do get over it, so don't worry too much.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been to OK yet, but perhaps we'll get stationed there someday!
Oh no! Please don't tell me I'm in for that in triplicate. I won't be able to take it!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back...love the pictures by the way.
