Random Tuesday Thoughts

It's time for Randomness brought to you by the Unmom

  • I thought yesterday was Saturday...ALL DAY...it wasn't until 9pm last night it hit me...TODAY is Monday...then I paniced and wondered NOT what appointments I had forgotten...BUT what TV shows I missed...it's all about priorities people...priorities

  • I read 'The Jester' by James Patterson yesterday (front to back) which would probably be the reason I thought it was Sat

  • Jess goes to pick up her scedule for 6th grade today-I don't know what scares me more-the fact my baby is growing up OR that she has been primping in the bathroom since 7am-she has always been my lil tom-boy, refusing to give in to the latest fads and fashions come to think of it she is very much like her dad-he is a rebel like that. What is it about middle school that flips a switch and all of a sudden they need lip gloss and eye shadow?

  • I went to wal*mart to buy school supplies with no list it wasn't very crowded since the only schools that have lists out are the elementary schools, so I bought $150 worth of stuff that will probably not be needed all in an effort to avoid the 12th and 13th day crowds-let me just say it is like BLACK FRIDAY on those days...I'm certain I forgot something OR didn't get the right thing...so I will be sending ERIC back...I am so pulling rank

  • I'm going to lunch with my MIL today-Panera-chicken frontega here I come....

  • It's bayfa cheer camp week-meaning the BA Varsity cheerleaders teach all the lil girls cheers, chants and dance rountines this week-so I watch Abby with these lil girls and she is so patient and sweet-so I ask her, why can't you be more like that with Jess her reply well, she should have signed up to be a bayfa cheerleader then I would HAVE to be nice to her.

  • We had the talk with Reese...yanno 'THE TALK'...that's all I'm saying...

  • Short and sweet today-I got a lot of blog reading to catch up on-since I had a snafu yesterday

My confession for today: The confessional will be open Friday-don't know what the confessional is? Click the secret confessions button on my sidebar-

  1. I was painfully aware that it was Monday yesterday. I was so tired and unmotivated that I don't really remember it. :-)

Who was more affected by The Talk? You or him? :-)

  10. Kids can't be nice to siblings, it's an unspoken rule. And school shopping shouldn't be painless. It helps us appreciate the fact that they're going back to school more when they're there, I think. Nice randomness. All it needed was vodka.

  13. Great random thoughts!

I had no idea yesterday was Monday either. Nor did I realize today was Tuesday until late this morning. All summer I'm off and can't ever remember what day it is until I look at the date on my cell phone.

Glad to hear you survived school shopping! Though I can't wait for school to start so I can have my house (and computer) back, I'm dreading school shopping, open houses, and picture sessions. Ugh!

I went through the same thing with my youngest daughter, she used to be my little tomboy but now that she's starting high school she's all worried about clothes and make-up. *sigh*

    Have a great day!

  17. 6th grade ain't got nothing on 7th and 8th. Batten down the hatches.

  18. Ooh, the talk? How'd that go? Good luck with all the Back To School stuff. I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that stuff!

  19. The talk....ooooohhhhh......

My daughter is in first grade and already informed me she needs lipgloss as part of her school supplies...

I would love to have lunch at Panera!

  20. The days of the week thing has been throwing me too with these four day work weeks. I always think that Friday is Saturday and Saturday is Sunday and then on Sunday morning I wake up all mixed up about whether it's a church day or a work day. Somebody...STOP THE MADNESS

  21. "The talk"? Oh, uh, what fun....

You want your kids to be nice to each other? Sweetie, what are you smoking?

Hope you had a good lunch!

  22. Oh I know!! TRY to find a Freakin' RED Pen The day after school starts!!!! I dare you!!!!!
That whole incident was so stressful I thought I was gonna have to send EdithAnne to Vinita!! She was sooooo upset!!!

  23. Oh, the Talk! Now I think it is Saturday! lol

  24. It's funny how time slips by the older you get. My days are just a whirlwind anymore. Did you like the book? I like J.Patterson. Have a great day.

  25. I remember THE TALK I had with my daughter. I had read a book and prepared for it strenuously. I was nervous.

I think I'm going to have to post about it one day. Since she's all grown up now, with kids of her own, perhaps it will be okay to share the day of her enlightenment....

  26. I did the same thing yesterday-- I was in a state of utter confusion all day. I hate that!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! You thought it was Saturday the entire day? not even Sunday? But Saturday? Oh boy, you need help.

What the hell is wrong with your schools that they don't have their lists online? My God, I shopped the other night for supplies and walked out of Walmart spending $300! I got a few other things, but about 95% of that was supplies. Insane!!!!!!!!!

    Justine :o )

  28. Yesterday was a holiday here, so, I almost forgot about RTT again because I thought it was Sunday.

I noticed the wally world here has pre-printed lists available at the front entrance. I didn't really look, because my kid isn't school-aged yet, but I wonder if it was specific or general guidelines or what?

  29. I sooooo get you!! Yesterday afternoon our cable/internet went down and I freaked....Tim thought it was because I wanted to write on my blog but I was like "NOOOO, don't you know what today is?? Monday!!! The new season of Jon and Kate starts tonight and it's the first show since their separation and I have to watch it or I'll just die". Okay, I didn't really say that last part but I was so frazzled that I was gonna miss it. How lame am I??

Good to know about James Patterson's new book...I love him!!!

  30. Thanks for the book recommendation. I am going to go onto Amazon and check it out for my Kindle.

The whole school supply thing bugs me too. Why can't the high school teachers provide a list like the elementary teachers do? They usually hand it out and say this is what you need for the next class so we are all dashing to the mall or Staples on the same night. Oh well, at least I will get to see some people I know.

  31. I've been making mental notes to stay away from stores that sell school supplies until later in the month. People just pack into Target and Wal-Mart this time of year.

  32. I hate when I mess up my days. But not enough to stop drinking so much.

  33. Left something for you on my blog! Please come check it out!

  34. This peeping tom just tagged you! Check out my blog to see why!!!

  35. Can I pretend that I think it is Saturday?!
I never got the talk - or a pamphlet. I was the kid who found out from the friends who got the talk.
I have to give Michael the talk soon - they will be doing the videos at school this year.

  36. There was no doubting it was Monday here!! I would have LOVED to be a fly on the wall to hear the "talk". I remember mine. Haha.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Your confessional is an awesome idea! Glad you survived the talk.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh, I'm still waiting to get "The Talk" from my mom and I'm 41. Maybe that explains a lot.
