The Love Dare-Day 2

If you have no idea what I am talking about CLICK HERE to get caught up and join me as I take The Love Dare

Okay I know I said I was going to post a love dare weekly, but this really is best done in 40 days. To hold myself accountable I feel I must post the dares daily...They will be short and sweet...

So how did everyone do yesterday with the dare? Have you seen Fireproof yet?

Lilest bean was really the only one that noticed something was different-which is fine since I am applying this love dare in all areas of my life. I am doing this for me not for Eric's immediate reaction-he has no idea I am doing the Love Dare and I like it that way...

Day 2-Love is Kind

Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you. --Ephesians 4:32

Dare:

In addition to saying nothing negative to your spouse again today, Do at least one unexpected gesture as an act of kindness.

I really like how the 2nd dare builds on the first, my unexpected gesture today will be putting away everyones laundry, I typically wash it, dry it and seperate it into piles, then they are responsible for putting it away-today I will do that for them, matching socks and hanging items up. Believe me this will be very unexpected...

My confession for today: I can only grow from here...

  1. I'm wondering if my husband is doing the Love Dare! LOL! He offered to help me make all the beds at my inlaws house! He kept coming to me and saying whenever you're ready I'll help you make the beds. I said okay. Then he'd come back and say it again. I finally said why on earth is it so important we make the beds right now? I said, "did you poop in it and your waiting for me to clean it up?!" LOL!

He's being awfully thoughtful today. Hmmm... I guess I need to think of something special JUST FOR HIM. =)

  2. Ok so far so good, yesterday I only mumbled the negative things under my breath. That's ok right? And for today's act of kindness I think I'm gonna hu, oops, it's Sunday, better not say it here LOL

  3. Wonderful ideas Georgie. I like your challenge.
One warning though: Don't be disappointed if nobody acknowleges you going the extra mile.
Remember, it is about you; not their reaction.

  6. I'm on the other end from you...I have been doing everything for the guys around here, so much that I am starting to resent them. I really want everyone to take over some of their own chores. So in the name of sanity...don't spoil them too much!
I didn't express my dislike of cooking this morning..hey it's a start right? I will try and not be your hardest student K?

  10. Oh Georgie! I love that you are doing this!! Rooster wants us BOTH to do it, but maybe I should steal a page (heh, heh!) from you and do it myself, surprising him!! I'm glad you are posting it every day, too!!

  12. This is a VERY cool idea, Georgie! (Does it make me weird that I really don't say negative things to my spouse very often? Although I don't always go out of my way to say something nice when I am thinking it, so that may be my move. :) )

JUST received Fireproof as a gift from my mom...don't know that hubby will be into it, but will try! :)

Enjoy the rest of your lovey-weekend!

  15. Great, now things are all out of whack... lol I posted my day one yesterday but didn't start it till today, so I'm still on day one, but so far so good!
Now you will always be one day ahead of me, but I'm okay with it, cus that's how I roll...

  18. This is a good dare! But my problem continues to be that my husband doesn't even notice the extra things I do. I often say I could stand naked in front of him with my body on fire, and he wouldn't notice. UGH

  19. I'll be a week behind you. My good friend gave me a copy of the book! When she first gave it to me she said, "you don't have to do the dares" and then I saw the title. Of course my gutter brain put "LOVE DARE" and her comment together and out came the response - "WHAT KIND OF BOOK IS THIS?!"
    Ha. Now I know. Whew!

Your husband doesn't read your blog either?

  23. I never say anything negative to Joe (except for that crack about him being an idiot, but I meant it in a good way) and I always sneak in something unexpectedly sweet. Today, I did the dishes while he did the laundry.
