I ♥ the 80s

Abby made that lil collage up there for me-while I love it-it makes me feel old, I was 23 in those pix and 23 feels like a long long long time ago and it does nothing to help me with the fact that the beanies are growing up. But I am not gonna whine about it anymore cuz then ya'll would hafta start bringing cheese with you to my blog...

So I was watching VH1s one hit wonders of the 80s and saw they have Micheal Damien's Rock On listed and any Y&R fan clearly knows he is not a OHW!  He had a booming music career on that soap.
Ahhh the 80s I ♥ the 80s I was a teen in the 80s-Casey Kasem and I would meet every Sunday-Casey was da Man!
Ways to Tell If You're Stuck in the 80's -How many of these do you remember?




1. Your fondest childhood memory is when Skippy got his head stuck in the banister.

2. You relax by putting on your legwarmers and dancing to the "Flashdance" soundtrack.

3. You think the two Coreys are "totally awesome."

4. You're still bitter that Wham! broke up.

5. Punky Brewster is your hero.

6. You type all of your term papers on a Commodore 64.

7. You still resent your parents for not installing a dumbwaiter in you house like Webster's.

8. The only video games you play are Frogger and Pac Man.

9. You're building your own Clockwork Smurf.

10. Your summer attire is Jellies and Jams.

11. A-ha's "Take on Me" is still your favorite video.

12. You consider yourself truly, truly, truly outrageous, much like Jem and the Holograms.

15. Every time you go to the beach you look for Snorks.

  8. Great list! I was born in the 80s but I do remember some of that stuff! I think it's so much fun to go back and remember the things that everyone liked when we were little. I loved VH1s I Love the 80s and 90s series.

    Instead of calling the little ones "punks" when they act up, I call them Punky Brewster. It sounds cuter and I love the name. If I have another kid, that's what her name will be. That or Pippy Longstocking. It's a toss up.

  32. Oh my gosh! Jams! THAT'S what those things were called - I'd been blocked on that for so long! ;) Love the list; I remember them all. I think we need to add Donkey Kong to Pac Man and Frogger, though! And that a*ha video was pretty awesome - now you've got to go to youtube and check out the literal version of "Take On Me" (ha-lar-i-ous!).

  37. I totally loved this post!! It brought back some really good memories!! I remember when Janet Jackson was Willis' girlfriend and I remember Punky Brewster...oh man, I'm feeling so old now!

    Remember when Olivia Newton John's Let Get Physical was a huge hit??? The video was so lame but I loved it for some reason.
