Both and sometimes cute lil boxes

2. Real tree or Artificial?
Artificial with pretty white lights and an array of different ornaments

3. When do you put up the tree? take the tree down?
It will go up Sunday and come down Jan 1st

4. Do you like eggnog?
Gag spit yuck nope


5. Favorite gift received as a child?
a huge barbie in pretty shiney white silky dress with silver trim and star ear rings


6. Hardest person to buy for?
MIL-she goes and buys herself whatever she wants-so i try do something unique

no but my neighbor has the coolest old world type nativity I admire hers every year

I mail Cards every year I have mine ready to go now


9. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?
I honestly don't think i have ever gotten a 'bad' gift

Christmas Vacation and Elf

11. When do you start shopping for Christmas?
Today, I try and wait for all the crazies to be done on BF-I did do some shopping on amazon last week that was FUN!

all the snackey type foods,dips,cheeses etc

We go to A LOT of homes during Christmas-it gets crazy

We do our gifts in the afternoon of Christmas eve BUT Santa still comes that night too-it's the best of both worlds parent gifts on the Eve and santa gifts on Christmas mornin

TRAFFIC!!!!

All my home-made ornaments the beans have made me over the years

Prime Rib-hands down

SSS gifts & A whole new meaning to the word STUFFED

What a wonderful 3 days and 3 different family homes we had. AND I AM NOT BEING SARCASTIC WHEN I SAY THAT! We kicked off Thanksgiving on Wednesday at my MILs where I waddled out to the truck after all the glorious food AND lemon pie, then Thursday was my FILs, I was starting to sway or is it bob at any rate I was lettin it all hang out. Then today was my moms house and lilest bean could pretty much just roll me to the car-I asked her to drive me home but her feet couldn't reach the gas pedal...

It was so nice getting to spend time with family these past few days-typically Ima one house girl for Thanksgiving(we have a LARGE family mr gp & I)-I feel obligated to eat everything-I wouldn't wanna hurt anyones feelings-so a few years ago I said I would go to only one family members house and rotate each year-this year I broke my rule and went to three homes and my 'Calvins' will never be the same-

In a few short weeks I will do this all over again and I am pretty sure the WHOLE reason we have New Years Day is so we can over-indulge during the holidays then resolve to starve diet for the rest of the year till we cave about 3 days in and eat a whole bag of chex mex...Proclaiming that muffin top really isn't so bad.

all got some really nice things from their SSS exchange partners, also I have gotten several emails with DC#'s so a few more of you should be getting packages any day now.

Deb from Postcards from the Edge has gotten a couple gifts, her SSS exchange partner is a sneaky one and VERY creative-I just happen to know who debs partner is and I giggle everyday waiting to see what she comes up with next.

He said something he shouldn't have said at school...I pitched a fit because while what he said shouldn't have been said-it did not warrant suspension...it was ignorance pure and simple...

The Holiday season is upon us and that makes me extra happy-I Love this time of year. The Christmas commercials have started, Christmas lights have already started going up around my town and I am ready to sit down and start addressing my Christmas Cards so I can have them ready to mail on Black Friday.

Speaking of black Friday are any of you crazy and get up early the day after Thanksgiving and participate? I have never camped out or woke at 3am to go get in any line-I have seen the news pieces and they scare me. Gottadeal already has black fridays ads posted with many more to come this week I linked for those of you that enjoy the thrill and want an early peek of the ads.

On to Thanksgiving...this year we are going to my MIL's on Wednesday where we will feast on Turkey and Dressing-she makes the BEST sausage dressing EVER-I know it's not very traditional but it is for her house and I look forward to it every year-she also makes the BEST home made lemon pie and those that know me know I am not a huge sweet eater BUT I could eat an entire lemon pie all by myself.

Do you have any family traditions starting with Thanksgiving? We typically put our tree up that night and watch Christmas Vacation then head out to Rhema and see all the Christmas lights. Lilest bean will go to my moms on that Friday and decorate her tree-we will eat and be merry-Moms house is the FUN House for Christmas and will get it's own post when we get closer to Christmas.

The Holiday season is a busy one for us, so for Thanksgiving I try and keep things simple-I stress easily-ask anyone who knows me. During Christmas we visit 4 different family homes with a Christmas party or 2 thrown in the mix, oldest and middle bean will visit at least 8-it's crazy I tell ya.

Secret Santa

Wanna know whats puts me in a really good mood? Of course you do your here aren't ya!

Besides Jill and Debs blogs....the fall for one-I just love jeans and sweater weather,the cool crisp air,the leaves changing to beautiful shades of orange,red and yellow,sitting by the fire ahhhh...I also love a good snow day which brings me to the whole Secret Santa title of this post....

So I know that Christmas is what 4 months away,(btw my Birthday is December 18th so start saving your pennies) I know we haven't even had Halloween yet but I was thinking it would be fun to do a Secret Santa gift exchange OR maybe an ornament exchange or maybe both and was curious how many of you would want to participate-I am asking now because as much as I am against them there will hafta be rules and since I'm no good at rules I would need time to google some come up with some on my own.

Whadda ya say? Yes,No,Maybe-it really is a lot of fun
