Things I Covet

There are so many products and services out there, so today I wanted to share some that get me through my day...

Things I Covet: Beauty Edition

Kymaro Body Shaper- I swore I would never wear a girdle like my mother(sorry mom) BUT I have to say I LOVE the top, there are some good and bad reviews out there as with any product, but I really like what the top body shaper does for me, I can still wear my bra, the shaper even gives me a much needed little lift and it doesn't smash down my boobies since the design of the top fits under your bust line, while smoothing me out. If your single and planning on 'hookin up' I suggest excusing yourself to the powder room and removing the garmet as it doesn't really scream 'I'm bringin Sexy back' If your married and plan on 'hookin up' I suggest ordering beige/nude and your hubby may not notice your wearing it...just sayin...I plan on buying a Spanx body shaper top to compare in the very near future

Too Faced Magic Wand Illuminating Foundation & Sephora- I have been a long time fan of Bare Escentuals Mineral makeup but recently on a trip to the mall I went into one of my favorite stores nekkid face n all, Sephora-I love going into the store and trying all the wonderful makeup-I don't feel like a ciminal like I do when I go to wal*mart and want to 'try before I buy' open every package until I find the right shade and Sephora lets me do just that- The Too Faced foundation at first appears thick and heavy but when applied with a sponge it is light and gives the perfect coverage-it is great for oily/shiney skin, it dries like a powder/matte finish LOVE the stuff

Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum- I live in Oklahoma, it's humid here, my hair is fine, very thick and naturally wavy, before this product I was giving bad hair days a whole new meaning. This product is A-W-E-S-O-M-E. I apply to towel dried hair then blow dry, then flat iron-it protects my hair from all the heat damage I am doing to it PLUS gives me a sleek, shiney, polished look. My bathroom cabinet is NEVER without this product.

Proactiv- I can not say enough about this skin care line, the whole family uses it(well not Eric he says it's too metro-sexual-esque) It is gentle and IT WORKS! I think it is important to teach my children to care for their skin and proactiv does just that, 3 simple steps and your on your way to a clearer complexion. Created by Drs. Rodan and Fields who are women, women 'know' skin! I also have to give a shout out to Proactive Deep Cleansing Body Wash because it keeps "bacne" at bay!

Soft and Dri- I sweat people, I have extra sweaty sweat glands, I have a daughter with the same issues and I(we) have tried every single deoderant out there and none have compared to Soft and Dri, specifically their powerstripe solid. Soft and Dri doesn't get near enough press in my opinion, it blows Dove, Secret and Degree out of the depths of armpit sweatiness, it delivers!

Crabtree & Evelyn 60 Second Fix- I think this store is often over looked because of bath and body works, while I have nothing agaisnt B&BW I love thier stuff, I just haven't found a hand care line like Crabtree & Evelyns 60 second fix, leaves my hands feeling like they had a parafin wax but in 60 seconds and a quick 2 steps 100% Divine baby soft hands all day long!

So what are some of the things you can't live without?

My confession for today: I will be doing a daddy post/update soon-things are still sinking in for me-the short version: he starts Chemo again next Wednesday...

*Disclaimer* I was not paid nor given any free products for the above reviews-the above reviews are my thoughts and my personal expierences with said products-none of the above product companies even know I exsist

  2. Hey, thanks for the tips! I'm particularly interested in the hand fix from Crabtree & Evelyn because I can NEVER find one that truly works well without being greasy. So thanks again.

  3. My kids use the Burts Bees acne line; it works even better than Pro-active and is a lot less expensive. In my opinion. I didn't know what most of those other products are (and I use the Avon anti-frizz stuff, love it!), but what I can't live without beauty wise is Oil of Olay moisturizer and Bath & Body Works Sensual Amber body cream. LOVE it.

  6. I use the Kerastase Oleo-Curl for my hair. I know it is expensive, but my hair is insane and needs lots of help! :)

The only other thing I really use is Oil of Olay. I've been using it since I was about 20 year old -- change isn't easy for me!

I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

  25. Praying that your Daddy and chemo get along great.

I love Burts Bees, but I am a big user of regular old Vitamin E. I put it on cuts, bruises, wrinkles, etc. Just ask my boys! ;o)

P.S. Thank you so much for your sweet comment yesterday. XO!

  34. Aluminum in Anti-persperants is what keeps you dry.
The higher the percentage, the drier you will be.
I like Arrid XX spray, Mitchum.

  35. Okay Georgie, out of all these reviews, the one I'm really interested in is Proactive. I have horrible skin. I don't have huge zits, but I do have tiny ones alllllllllllll over my face. Blackheads, little tiny whitehead bumps, etc. Do you think Proactive would even help with this kind of acne? I've often contemplated ordering this but Jimmy always says, "You're so gullible. It wouldn't do a thing."

    Justine :o )

  39. Ooh! I have frizzy hair here in Okieland too! I'm going to have to try the Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Anti-Frizz Serum myself. Also, I joined 30-something bloggers because I am a shameless follower, even though Bon Jovi says I wasn't born to be one.

  40. What can I not live without?

    My morning coffee or Cappuccino.

    Friends. They are my family.

    A good book.

    Tig O bitties.....I'm just saying.....you know?

Internet. I can't imagine the world without it.

Freedom. Of speech and of soul.....it's so hard to reason this because we live in constant bondage to the Government, Debt and society.....

Hope you are doing good. Thanks for pointing me in the direction of Edward at KONYH's. I enjoy his blog now.

    Be good to yourself.

  42. I've thought about using proactiv but my skin is So sensitive so I'm not sure.

    That foundation sounds good.

And yes, I totally need anti-frizz for my mop of hair.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thanks for the tip on the anti-frizz serum. I'm starting to think, too, that I'm going to start rinsing my hair with vinegar. The hard water in Tulsa is KILLING me.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Beauty edition, huh? Well...I could not live without B&B Sugar Scrub; it's my favorite indulgence (at home). I am also loving my e.l.f. lip glosses and blush/bronzer (SO inexpensive and yet wonderful). When is the Kitchen Edition? I have a bunch I could add to that :)
